Advanced Microwave, Incorporated was established in 1995 for the purpose of manufacturing commercial products such as mixers and amplifiers. As requirements arose, we expanded into military electronic components and subsystems in 1998. In 1999, AMI introduced more selections of amplifiers, mixers, and converter products.
Advanced Microwave's facilities are located in Sunnyvale, CA, USA, in the heart of the Silicon Valley - making it easier and faster to obtain raw material, and to monitor the quality of the parts. The facilities are about 7000 square feet (750 square meters), with a large manufacturing clean room facility, built exclusively for Advanced Microwave, Inc.
In 1997, Advanced Microwave, Inc. generated a quality manual based on MIL-I-45208 and ISO9001 with the emphasis on keeping records of the process flow from the time of receiving the raw material to the time the part is shipped. Manufacturing process flow and screening is based on MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-202, and MIL-STD-810 as needed per customer requirement.
In addition to our component product diversification capability, the availability of building blocks makes it possible to build complex microwave subsystems and multi-function products in an extremely small package, but of exceptionally high performance, doing away with the "component coaxial" subsystem configuration.
Using an array of Advanced Microwave building blocks, we are capable of designing for specific requirements combining microstrip and thin-film technology. They are as follows:
Amplifier, Coupler, Detector, DC to DC Converter, Detector Log Amplifier, Filter, Mixer, Power Divider, Phase Shifter.
The integrated assembly may cover the frequency range of DC to 40 GHz. Advanced Micrwave has perfected a manufacturing process that combines soft board (duroid) and alumina substrate (ceramic) into one package, achieving the most rugged and durable product to withstand the most severe environmental requirements.
